Program overview

The Tourism and Hospitality (B.Sc.) program at EMU is a 4-year full-time undergraduate program delivered by the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management in Famagusta. The program's mission is to prepare intellectually developed experts and a professional workforce that meets the long-term needs of the global tourism sector and related fields.

Beyond meeting industry needs and preparing for professional life, the program motivates students to become creative and innovative specialists. Thanks to an educational program backed by practical opportunities, graduates gain a wide range of career prospects.

The curriculum combines the theoretical foundations of business and management with a tourism specialization: case studies, projects and internships allow students to apply knowledge to real scenarios of the hotel and tourism business.

About the school

The EMU School of Tourism and Hospitality Management strives to be the region's leading educational institution in tourism, hospitality and recreation management, training managers who can create knowledge and apply it in practice.

The language of instruction is English. In the first two years, students additionally attend English courses, developing both their general level and industry vocabulary. The program offers a second foreign language — German, French or Russian — and a third language can be studied through electives. Internships take place in well-known hotels and other institutions of the country.

Program structure

The program lasts 4 years and consists of 8 semesters. The language of instruction is English. The educational process is built in stages:

  • Second year — advanced English and introduction to the tourism specialization
  • Subsequent semesters — specialized courses: tourism marketing, hotel management, travel agency operations, event management, sustainable tourism and financial management in tourism
  • Internships — mandatory placements in hotels, airlines and travel agencies

The program combines a theoretical base with practical application: case studies, projects and internships allow students to apply knowledge to real scenarios of the hotel and tourism business.
